Which Path is Financially Better? Find Out Who Earns More, Celebrities or CEOs

Ever since we set foot on Earth, one of our tasks is to figure out what do we want to become when we grow up. Can you still remember your kindergarten introduction that includes your childhood dream at the later part of your speech?

What is Your Dream Job?

As we grow older, our goals sometimes change, some remain. If you look at your college yearbook, pretty much, what you have written there is your career today. Others may have settled for a nine-to-five job that they don’t even like.

Our career, more often than so, defines who we are. Most certainly, it labels our social status. The people who were born with a silver spoon in their mouth are privileged enough to follow their heart’s desire. For example, Hollywood babies are already famous and rich. Unfortunately, most of us had to pick the more practical choice, financially speaking.

Money Matters

They say money can’t buy happiness, but why do we feel sad when we lack it? The CEO of big companies, like David Zaslav of Discovery Channel, who earned $129 million in his paycheck in 2018, doesn’t seem to look sad whenever the value of their stocks go up.

Perhaps, the piece of paper is an essential tool for our survival in this world. After all, it is what we use to buy the things that bring joy to ourselves and to our loved ones. Be it material stuff, intangible needs like education, and experiences.

CEOs Six-Figure Salary

Most of the individuals in the list of wealthiest people on Earth usually carry the title ‘Chief Executive Officer’ under their names. The salary they make ranges adequately into six-figures. Take it from the globe’s wealthiest living individual, Jeff Bezos, whose net worth once reached more than $150 billion.

Fame and Cash Look Great Together

Katy Perry earns $25 million in a season as a judge on American Idol

But being a CEO feels like being Spider-man, it comes with great responsibility. That is why a lot of people strive to become famous instead. One of the most popular ladders to success includes TV reality shows such as American Idol, Survivor, and America Got Talent.

These contests come with a package deal of a dazzling million-dollar cash price, plus a chance to sign a big-ticket contract like the American Idol judge, Katy Perry, who’s gaining $25 million in her chair.

What we do for a living is part of our identity. Some experience mid-life crisis where we can’t figure out what do we really want to do in life. Others base their decision on where they can earn more money. We guess, as long as we find sanity while earning big bucks or doing what we love even without a big check to accompany it, we’re good to go.
