Find Out How Much These Iconic Elvis Presley Items Made in Auctions
People hold great value on mementos, especially on stuff that came from legends. Many fanatics are willing to spend a lot of money to acquire the items used or owned by famed personalities.
As crazy as it may sound, some are even willing to swipe their cards to purchase celebrities’ garbage. Just recently, a fanatic bought Britney Spears’ used pregnancy test kit and leftover food for an insane price.
But there are also worthy items out there that you simply can’t say no to them. The King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley is one of the legends who got lots of memorabilia that will take your breath and cash away.
Elvis’ Original My Happiness’ Acetate
First on the list is Elvis Presley’s first ever recorded song; My Happiness. Young Presley taped his record on pressed acetate. It was his golden ticket to stardom with the help of the man behind Sun Records, Mr. Philips. The legend’s friend, Ed Leek, had the possession of the valuable record for more than 60 years before his niece Lorisa Hillburn decided to auction it for €255, 341.
The Legend’s Jumpsuit
Aside from being handsome, Elvis Presley’s good looks had something to do with his fashion style as well. He was always neatly suit-up, and a lot of people noticed his outfits. So, when Elvis’ jumpsuit popped up in auction, a fanatic was willing to shell-out €276, 619 for it. The white jumpsuit wrapped in jewels and studs designed by Bill Belew and Gene Doucette was one of Elvis’ favorite attires.
Custom-Made Elvis Guitar
Acquiring your idol’s instrument is probably one of the most satisfying shopping experiences. Well, a lucky Elvis fan from Asheville, North Carolina, Mike Harris, received Elvis ‘custom-built guitar from Elvis himself as a gift on one of his shows. He then sold it for €284, 280 after over 40 years of possession. Who could have ever imagined receiving a present from their musical hero and then earning big bucks from it many years later?
Presley Family’s Golden Piano
Another iconic instrument from the legend is a golden piano. It was originally Elvis’ present from his mother and then his wife Pricilla had it coated in gold as an anniversary gift. The gold-covered piano hit €510, 682 in bidding at an auction.
The King of Rock and Roll’s Private Jet
Last, but definitely not the least, is a 1962 Lockhead Jetstar JT 12-5. It sold for €510, 551 in 2008, regardless of its condition. The engines are no longer working and are also up for auction for €21, 257 each.
The price-tags may be jaw-dropping but acquiring these items, surely is breath-taking. Aside from the fact that a legend used to own them, the value of the items may even grow bigger in time.
